Does the check cashing companies advertising on CNN and Fox mean the economy is real bad?
I ahve used them in the past, you write a check and they hold it till alter and give you the cash, but it was many moons ago and finally got a second job, but never saw them advertise on national networks, so it must be getting bad.
We have had one in our county since the early 90’s, I have never used one, and I really do not pay that much attention, it also has western union, which I have used before!! they charge way too much to do that, those kinda places are part of the problem!!!!! People need to learn how to manage money!!! and go without, until payday!!!! I know it would be hard now-a-day, especially if you had a medical emergency
I’m sure it appeals mostly to those hardest hit, such as families whose homes have been foreclosed on, etc. Areas with the most rapid decline in home prices tend to feel the ripple-effect of all that "disappearing money" much like they did in the late-nineties tech crash.
We’d pull out of it if the government would just quit fire-hosing the revenues out 200% faster than they can vacuum that same money out of our pockets (then give a li’l chunk back and call it a "tax rebate").
